Old Testament—Numbers 11:24-30 New Testament—Acts 2:1-8, 12-21

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty God,
On Pentecost you poured your Spirit upon
gathered disciples creating bold tongues,
open ears, and a new community of faith.
We confess that we sometimes hold back the force of
your Spirit among us.
We do not always listen for your word of grace,
Or speak the good news of your love,
Have mercy on us, O God.
Transform our timid lives by the power of your Spirit,
and fill us with a flaming desire to be your faithful people,
doing your will for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
God emboldened the first church to speak up and speak out. God, continue to
grant us the power of the Holy Spirit to proclaim your love, grace, and peace our
community and to our world. Thanks be to God. Amen.
