Celebrating Palm Sunday

Hosanna! As we begin Holy Week with the celebration of Palm Sunday, you kids might be curious about what it all means. Why the green branches? What's up with the donkey? Jesus road into Jeruselam as a king and even though he did not wear a crown and road in on a donkey instead of a fancier ride, the people recognized him as a king. But Jesus had different plans and purposes than what people expected of Him. His purpose came from God, and worked for our salvation! Palm Sunday is a time to rejoice in what He ultimately came to do.

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. 13 So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”
